So, ever looked at an application and asked yourself, "Why the hell do they need to know THAT?" Well, I am explaining the more commonly asked questions because they are either the longer sections you need to write for or are different from other sites. Any other questions? Feel free to contact an admin.
Appearance: Well, the main reason I require an appearance is because I believe it is the best way to show if you are a good writer. A good writer can write a realistic appearance without the character being a mary sue while a bad writer often has trouble with this. No one is perfect, don’t make them perfect. For everything that people generally like, make something people don’t like. I'm most nitpicky about this, I can forgive a more in personality and history, but appearance always bothers me because I feel if an appearance can't be well written the writer's skill set may not be up to par with what the site needs. Well, there's that and the fact that, do you really think that the picture you are looking at is really what that celeberty looks likes? Case and point, check out the magics of retouching here.
Appearance Flaws: Because I think it's needed. Feel free to repeat yourself from the appearance section. This should take two seconds because a list such as *Fat arms *Tiny nose *Huge forehead is perfectly acceptable. But avoid things such as ugly knees or feet. Everyone doesn't has ugly knees and feet! If you need help with this feel free to PM me, I am quite good at finding flaws in a celeb's appearance. This also forces people to notice perfect appearances, and to add flaws to even that out.
Personality: I have a basic rule that one must be able to give a rough guess to the character’s history though their personality, if anything dramatic has happened to them in the past. If I cannot do this then I feel the character was not well thought out and the drama in their past was added without research or thought. So, make sure the character’s history can be guessed slightly by their personality, no one goes through life without their past changing who they are.
History: I need this written out to make sure the character is realistic and not overly dramatic. Simply and self explanitory.
Everything Else: is either to know the basics of your character or to check your character for realism. This is a realistic role play, I would like to keep it that way when it comes to characters.
