discipline , He’s not fully trained yet, but he’s a pretty good Trail Horse... he’s been started in Western Pleasure ‘just for kicks’, but didn’t show much potential... for the future, he may possibly be taught barrels and poles ‘just for kicks’ and Gaming... and maybe a few other things, but that’s unknown as of yet.
rider level , At least an Intermediate/Advance Intermediate
overall personality , Outlaw’s name suits him fairly well. He’s a fairly ok horse, but he’s iffy about strangers until he’s used to them and is very wary of new things. He can sometimes be aggressive towards other horses, though luckily it isn’t very often
He has ok ground manners... oh he’s been taught, and taught well, but he challenges people so much that at times it appears like his ground manners have been neglected. He’s nippy every now and then and can be a bit pushy. He also ‘threatens’ to kick, but so far he’s never actually gone through with the action.
It’s the same undersaddle... he likes to test his boundaries every now and then. Sometimes he’ll just stop refuse to move at all, or he’ll only backup or sidestep and things like that. Once you show him ‘who the boss it’ he straightens up. One thing he can’t stand, though, is riders hanging onto his mouth and that’s pretty much the only time he’ll rear unless he’s rearing to fight/strike out at another horse or because he’s angry or scared.
When he’s off ‘work’ or not ridden for a while, he has to be brought back in slowly and should be lunged before being ridden until he’s back in rhythm again because he can get ‘iffy’ and throw some huge bucks.
Outlaw loves carrots and apple slices, but won’t touch many other treats. He also won’t eat regular sweet feed. He really likes water and mud and will get after/kill a dog if one gets near him/in his way, as he majorly hates them. Loud noises can sometimes set him off, but he has more ‘fight’ instinct in him that ‘flight’ instinct.

history , Outlaw was born in the wild. He was caught and adopted at age three, but wasn’t broke by his owner. Instead, he was just messed with enough to learn to pick up his hooves and stand still for the vet and farrier, then was put in a pasture and left... not out of neglect, as he still got proper farrier and vet care and was still fed right, but left out in the pasture because his owner had just wanted a ‘pasture ornament’.
His life as a pasture ornament didn’t last long, though, as he was sold to Reiji as a four year old. With Reiji, Outlaw had a major reality check. He was worked with daily on ground manners for over a year before Reiji was satisfied and decided to go on to breaking him. Reiji wanted to get him to the point where a person could ride him in an arena before sending him to a trainer for the rest of his ‘basics’... and he did. It took a while, but eventually a saddle was on Outlaw’s back and a bridle on his head, and not too long afterwards he was sent off to be started correctly.
Upon coming home, Outlaw was mainly just trail ridden, though his owner is thinking of training him to some other things.
