overall personality , Contillo is a very difficult horse to get along with. He's strong willed and has a tendency to be mean. He's cinchy and can be a bit nippy if you really get him agitated. He's one of those opinionated horses who doesn't like to be rough handled, and boy howdy, he'll let you know it if you piss him off. He tends to be rather skittish of people, although he gets along better with girls than guys. He's got a lot of vices, however he seems to have latched himself onto Jupe quite well, and is almost like a dog. He has his vices, however he's an absolute dream to ride, so long as you mind your P's and Q's. He doesn't take to beginning riders very well, as bad balance tends to irritate him, and he absolutely will not tolerate rough handed riders. If you yank on his mouth, you're sure to get piled. Of course, he has his sweet moments, too, and is a huge sucker for sugar cubes. Give him a sugar cube and he's good as gold.

history , No one's entirely sure where the Spanish names come from, but for several generation's, the names have been Spanish. Contillo was really an accident. Avalanche was to be gelded the next morning. He too was mostly an accident, but he got out and covered Dama Ciela. They never bothered to register Contillo, although they did give him a name, and they sold him as soon as he was weaned, mostly expecting him to go for dog meat. However a young girl was looking for a horse to train, and so she bought him.
However, he wasn't exactly a good horse to be a first training project. He was stubborn from the get go, and willfull. The girl's father had him gelded, in the hopes that that would cool him down a bit, but it didn't. He was hot and fiery and particularly mean tempered. The father tried his hand at training him, but he fared worse than his daughter had, and Contillo was sold again as a two year old. He was then sold to a lady who had a different way about her, and the two got along, although they weren't a perfectly matched team or anything. She found that the stubborn gelding had an aptitude for Dressage, and so that was where she pushed his training. The horse was a naturally elegant horse, a free mover with beautiful gates. She kept him for several years, and did some showing with him, although nothing high level.
Jupiter's parents bought the gelding for her a year ago. The girl was a little skeptical at first. The horse has a rather mean I and a very clear "I hate the world" attitude, but the two of them proved to get along quite well. He latched promptly onto Jupiter, and she is his girl, there's no doubt about it. The two have done some minor showing together, although nothing major, and done okay. And that pretty much brings us up to the present...
