discipline , Mainly cross country and hunter.
rider level , Intermediate is preferred on more difficult exercises, but most beginners would be able to handle him fine over small fences or flatwork.
overall personality , Dante is a very level-headed, steady mount. He doesn't have many vices and acts more like a dog (when food reward is involved) and will follow you around if it means getting a mint. He isn't extremely confident over fences that are new or have some sort of 'scary' decoration adorning them. However, sudden noises or movements don't frighten him and isn't very jumpy at all. He absolutely loves to roll in the pasture, which can be a bit problematic considering the huge splotches of white on his coat. He gets along generally with any horse, preferring to be with others when in pasture but riding can handle being alone out on the trails or riding ring. He is a very curious horse that will stick his nose in to any bucket or chew on any material he can find, sometimes destroying equipment along the way. Sometimes he can be difficult about taking the bit when tacking up, but after some coaxing he'll usually open up. Other than that he has a very sweet, easy going personality and loves any sort of attention that he can get.

history , Born in New Jersey at a stable specializing in the breeding and training of Irish Sport Horses, Dante was bred for athleticism and personality. He didn't come out to be as large or exactly proportioned as they would have liked, so after his basic training and breaking was finished, he was sold at auction to a smaller stable that could give him the personal attention that he needed to blossom. They worked with him at an easy pace, discovering he was a very quick learner and wouldn't get frustrated if he did not understand what was asked of him. Although he would be frightened of something, he wouldn't bolt off like a mad-man from it. His gentle nature made him an immediate favorite and when he was mature enough to move on from basic flat work he was worked over fences, which he enjoyed but after coming up lame early on it was clear he wasn't destined to be jumping much over 3', and that would be his absolute maximum height, and not often. He remained at the stables until two years ago when the barn went under foreclosure and all the stock was put up for sale, and he was purchased by Shaelyn McAndrews where they learned from one another to better themselves and grew to be a good team, and he was even used part-time as a lesson horse for younger riders.
