basic appearance, Meadow is a rather slender girl, with barely any curves. If it weren't for her hair, and just about flat breasts, she could be mistaken for a boy. Of course, a very young, but tall one. She has the figure of a dancer, yet the grace of a newborn calf. Her feet are too small, and they seem to forget about eachother. With long, slender fingers, she could play almost any instrument, but has no muscle memory for such feats. Though she is skinny, she eats like a pig, but a healthy one. She calls herself a borderline vegetarian, and rarely eats meat. She has to take protein supplements to allow herself to have any muscle on her body.
Though she can be compared to a bean pole, she is rather pretty. She has bright blue eyes that have been compared to a cloudless sky. They are a very light blue. Her eyes are rather big, and set slightly far apart. She has a pointed nose, and slightly flared nostrils that give her a constantly playful look, and could remind one of an elf. She has tiny, pierced ears that are always covered by wisps of hair. Her lips are on the thinner side, and are rather pale, but so is the rest of her skin. Meadow's teeth are white, and rather straight only thanks to braces her foster parents had gotten her when she was in middle school.
Her ivory skin is covered in freckles, and she has a few moles scattered through them. She appears to be Irish, and German or Polish, but if you asked her, she could never tell you. Her accent hints at a Southern origin, but she's moved around so much that sometimes she has no accent at all. The way she walks will never draw attention to her, unless she falls... which happens quite a lot.
physical flaws, She has a rather long neck, and tiny feet, quite disproportionate to her body.
She has a strong jaw, and dimpled chin, but a soft face, making her look almost like an alien... Or transvestite.
She has broad shoulders and tiny, almost flabby arms, while the rest of her is quite toned.
She has a really long neck, earning her the name Giraffe in middle school.
Her eyes are large, but deep set, so when she frowns her eyes look tiny.

overall personality , Mean, self-centered, antagonizing, and hateful are a few words that will never be used to describe Meadow Rodgers. She is kind to everyone she meets, giving them a chance no matter what they look like, or what someone else has said about them. She thinks that first impressions are a big deal, and always tries to make a good one. She has very few close friends though, always keeping a personal distance between herself and everyone she meets. She's a strong girl, but deep down she's fragile and would like to keep that weakness to herself. She has always been close to her parents though, and they can tell just by the sound of her voice when something is going on. And though she is adopted, she has always viewed them as her real mom and dad, even after she met her mother.
Meadow isn't really afraid of a lot of things. Spiders never bothered her, and she never feared the dark. She always thought snakes were cool, and she was never squeamish. She only ever feared two things in her life, growing up and drowning. When she learned her biological mother had been schizophrenic she did research. She learned that it doesn't happen until you turn 18, typically. Until recently, she was terrified of becoming like her mother. The only reason she fears drowning is because when she was younger, a foster brother tried to do just that. She has an unexplainable fear of heights, and refuses to ride roller coasters. And planes are out of the question. Otherwise she is fearless, and trusting of almost everyone. Of course she wont jump in the car with any stranger, but she doesn't switch sides of the street just because a curious character is walking her way, and she doesn't fret when a big man sits next to her on the bus. Sure, she doesn't expect that everyone is good, nor expect that they are bad. She gives everyone the opportunity to do good things, but doesn't put herself in stupid situations.
She's the kind of person who would gladly give a homeless man a free meal if she had the money. She does a lot of charity work. This shouldn't come as a shock to anyone, considering she came from a homeless mother, but she doesn't do it in hopes of finding her or anything. Meadow just has a big heart, and wants to help out as much as she can. She feels that everyones purpose in life is to help others. When she was in school she would donate toys, clothes, books, anything she outgrew. In high school and college, she was a part of habitat for humanity, and spent many summers in different states building houses. Now she volunteers at the city pound, and Goodwill. She has vowed never to help out at a Nursing Home simply because old people scare her, and she hates the smell of feces.
Meadow tends to try to hard to help people, and ends up annoying them with her attempts, or making a huge mess of things. Her clumsiness doesn't help either. Her relationships tend to fall flat because she tries to hard to make the other person happy and ends up miserable. Because she is an elementary school teacher, she tends to forget that not everyone in the world is under the age of 10, and talks to some people as if they are. She is rather good at alienating herself in any situation, simply because she opens her mouth. She's always connected more with children and animals, simple because they don't expect much conversation.

history , Fall of 1986, a homeless woman is brought into the Chicago City hospital. She was going into labor, and had no idea what was happening to her. Doctors and nurses suspected drugs, other said it was schizophrenia. When her relatively healthy baby girl was born, the arrow pointed to her being mentally unstable. The papers were filed, and the baby was taken away, but not before she could name her Meadow. "Meadow. Meadow Rodgers." she'd said in an almost incoherent voice.
The woman had no idea who the father was, so the doctors suspected rape. Then again, she wasn’t really sure who she was. Once the baby was stable, she was given to an adoption agency, who found her a set of foster parents. They soon had a baby of their own, and couldn't afford to care for both. So the 6 month old Meadow was back at the agency. And out again when another suitor was found.
Summer of 1993, a family with an infertile mother wants a little girl of her own. Meadow fit the bill. Most of the foster families before had lots of kids, and so everything Meadow had was never really her own. Things were a bit different here. She had her own bed, sheets, toys and clothes. She became a little spoiled, but she was always sweet as could be.
They put her in riding classes, and dance classes. She ended up being too clumsy for dance, but great for horses. Her quiet manner, and eagerness to please helped her to easily connect with the horses. It was hard for her to control them, but eventually she got used to being the boss.
After about a year, the family decided they wanted to take on more kids, and started to foster a younger boy, named Gregory. The two got along really well, becoming the best of friends. They were really like brother and sister. They were both fully adopted before Mr. and Miss Collins started to foster another boy, named Lucus. He was much more of a handful than Greg and Meadow. He was rude, and had a temper. He was also a bit violent, even dangerous. After they'd had him for three months he tried to drown Meadow in the local pool. The Collins decided that they could not provide him with the help he needed, and sadly gave him up.
As Meadow went through school, she and her parents realized that she was rather smart, and had lots of potential. They wanted her to be a lawyer, a doctor, a scientist... And so on. Meadow however, didn’t think any of these jobs would suit her. Being smart, she knew she didn’t ‘belong’ to the Collin’s like most kids belonged to their parents, and she confronted them about it. They told her that her mother had been mentally unstable, and she quickly did research.
All she learned about her mother was what doctors knew about schizophrenics in 1995, which wasn’t much. But she knew that she might end up with the same problem her mother had in 9 more years. Eighteen was usually when people started to change, and from then on, she lived in fear of becoming like her mother. Homeless, and alone.
She never had any strong relationships with other students, though she worked hard in class. Her only friends were her parents, Greg, the horses she rode, and her teachers. Her teachers made a big difference in her life, if it weren’t for them, school would have been hell for her. So, on her 18th birthday, she decided if she didn’t succumb to her mother’s disability, she would become a teacher, and hopefully help a scared little girl like herself some day.
Meadow easily got a few scholarships, and her parents helped pay for her to get through college, and now she is a third grade teacher at the city’s elementary school that she went to.

roleplay sample ,
“Mommy!!!” a small child screamed. “I’m coming Ayanna…” Bare feet treaded across the linoleum floor, slightly sticking. “Hi there, baby.” the girl said, lifting a three year old girl from her bed. “What’s wrong?” she asked, holding the constantly growing child on her hip.
“I’m hungry.” she complained. “Oh, well, let’s fix that.” she said, kissing her daughter on the forehead.
“How about we get you dressed, and go get some food?” she asked, watching the little girl rub her eyes and nod. “Ok.” she said, smiling. She sat the girl down, and dug through an old dresser.
“Here we are.” she said, pulling out a pink tank top, and white shorts with matching pink polka dots. “It’s going to be hot today sweetheart.” she said, helping the girl out of her pajama’s and into her clean clothes. Delphinium was already dressed, and ready to go. She’d been ready for a few hours. She’d been working on homework from her online class she’d been taking.
Being a single mother, at 20, and only having your high school diploma made finding a job hard. So, instead of being a horse vet, like she wanted, for the time being, she mucked out stalls, and took tourists on horseback tours of Wyoming. Boy, was her mom proud. They’d always thought she’d be a model, or something special. She had the looks for modeling.
Plump red lips, and thick black hair, contrasted by her big blue eyes. She definitely had the looks, but it just never happened. Having a baby at 17 sort slims down your lifestyle choices. So now, she was living with her grandmother in an old mobile home that smelled like cats and feet.
“Ow!!!” The child complained. “I’m sorry sweety.” she said, as she quickly finished the nasty job. “Ok, all done.” she said, before putting the curls into two cute little pigtails. “Alright, let’s go get food.” she said, sitting the girl on the floor, and walking towards the kitchen. Ayanna followed her, petting every cat they passed.
They lived with about 10, with a litter of kittens, and another on the way. It was becoming impossible to count the ones outside. Delphinium poured a bowl of cereal, and milk for her daughter, before shooing all of the cats away, and lifting the child into her booster seat. “Here you go.” she said, giving her a glass of orange juice with a straw.
Delphinium walked into another room, shutting down the computer she’d been using. “Bad kitty, go away!” she heard her daughter say as she pulled on a pair of boots over her dark skinny jeans. She tucked in her flannel shirt, and pulled her hair into a ponytail. She was ready for work. “Are you done, Ayanna?” she asked, peeking into the other room.
“The kitties wont leave me alone!” she complained. Delphinium couldn’t help but laugh as she went to rescue her daughter. “How about a Poptart?” she asked, grabbing one, and sippy cup of juice from the fridge. “Let’s go sweet heart.” she said, placing the items in a bag, and carrying them, and her daughter out the door.
Stepping over cats, Delphinium and Ayanna made their way to the beat up old Chevy they rode around in. After buckling up her precious cargo, Delphinium got in herself, and started the truck. “Off to work we go.” she said, putting it in gear and driving the twenty miles to the ranch Delphi worked on.
There wasn’t much to choose from on the radio, so Delphi had rigged up the tape player so she could plug in her iPod, and listen to her music. Ayanna tried to head bang along, and made quite a sight of herself. After about 20 minutes of this, they pulled into the ranch, Delphi parking in her usual spot, and letting Ayanna out of the truck.
“Go on inside, Mommy will see you at lunch time.” she said, kissing the girl on the top of the head, giving her the bag and watching her go. As she watched her daughter leave, she realized, she’d forgotten to put her shoes on. Delphi groaned inwardly, and shook her head. She slammed the truck door, and made her way towards the barn.
