James is a very rugged looking man. He likes to have a little stubble most days, and usually wears about anything loose, flannel, or simple. He takes immense care of his face and facial/head hair, almost to the point of obsession. James takes altogether too much time to get ready for the day. His facial hair is usually nicely trimmed, but only the very observant can tell. He enjoys the rugged appearance, although that appearance is tediously crafted those hours before he is seen by anyone. James really isn't one for showing off manliness, but he doesn't really have to try. He works an honest living as a stable hand, and for it appears masculine and scruffy.
built, yet so soft
James , simply put, works out a lot. Whether just by his daily job, his jobs on the side, or his spare time working with his horse. He is also not one to be lazy and neglect his health and hygiene. Although his body is well built, shaped and toned, he has a softness to him. His face, although it has some angles, is generally soft and what some might call "baby faced". His smile is warm and welcoming, putting any rigidness to shame. His hands, although calloused and littered with scars and bruises, are soft, strong, but gentle to the touch.
the face of . . . innocence?
Although his face is soft and reassuring, his wild side can sometimes take over. When enthused or excited, his eyes light up and his face takes on a mischievous charm. His eyes are a dark hazel, that seem to change with what he wears. His only garb is earthly or neutral tones with his favorite pair of jeans, and his eyes moderate with the changes in cloth. A mossy green shirt is adorned, and his eyes become mossy green. A steel gray sweater, steel gray eyes. Get the idea?
physical flaws,
pucker up
All throughout high school, James was constantly teased by his group of guys that his lips are a bit girlie. His lips pucker and pinch just like a womans. His father even said he had his mother's lips. And she is a supermodel. What an embarrassment! He can never live down the classic taunt "Pucker-up Barbie."
broken and never healed
When James was in 9th grade, he got into a brawl with the senior class bully. The fight was intense, and both parties got pretty good hits in until James was sent soaring through the air with a punch to the nose. Blood gushed, and the sickening CRACK! was heard around the courtyard. His nose did not heal quite properly, and now he forever has a bump that classifies his 9th grade blunder.

James always called his left side his "good side." And for good reason. An awful car accident he was in when he was 19 forever changed the right side of his face. His ear, down to the nape of his neck behind his jaw is a huge burn scar, with a portion of his earlobe missing. After the crash, the paramedics thought it was a terrible head wound and that they would have to operate. However, when they cleared all the blood, it was just from his ear down. The right side of his face will never be changed, and he won't do surgery to get it fixed.

James is quite the charmer! His dazzling smile, cool moves and slick replies have the ladies hooked. However, he is not a player. He does not like taking advantage of women, although he enjoys their company. He finds them intriguing to be around, but prefers being acquainted with women who know their own minds and have their own opinions. He is not aware of his charm, and doesn't really think he has any, although the general populace would disagree. James is always winding up to be the center of lady attention or otherwise.
An aggressive past
James was quite the aggressor in his high school years. He constantly picked fights, had the worst temper in the world, and could not seem to get himself under control. However, after some incidents in his junior and senior years, he has gone through therapy to get the anger dealt with. Though he is ten times better now, there are those moments when his temper flares and he is angry at himself for days after a not so pleasant reaction to someone or something. It is a constant struggle to keep himself and his emotions under control, and it is sure not easy. He usually takes to writing everything that bothers him down, and now has developed a passion for writing, and keeps a current daily journal. His friends keep him in check most of the time, but there are those days when it is just difficult to get a handle on his emotions and aggression.
gentle giant
Despite his aggressive past and prowess, James has a soft inner core beneath his exterior. His favorite thing to do is have meaningful conversations with people about life, love, and happiness, among other things. He is compassionate and desires to help people, as long as they don't intentionally try to piss him off. At that point, he tries to just walk away. His heart and motives are in the right place, but his troubled adolescence has taken a toll on his demure nature. He enjoys his time outside and in solitude, even though he is quite social when the situation calls. His mind is always wandering, pondering questions with complex answers. He is a thinker, a philosopher. At least on paper. While talking, his conversations in huge groups are quite mild and mediocre. But when one on one with a close friend, his true self is revealed.
