So, after talking to a few people and reading a few threads on other sites something has worried me about keeping the realism on this site to where it should be. This is why I have decided that we need a safeguard to keep people roleplaying their horses in a realistic manner, and this is an "admin hit lameness".
What is it, you ask? Well, when the admins see you roleplaying your horse in a manner that is unrealistic and unsafe for a real horse we will post in the thread and tell the player of the character that their horse has gone lame. We will specify what the lameness is, why it happened, why we think it should happen and all that. This lameness must then be carried out in the thread and the horse may not be ridden in roleplay until the admins have decided the lameness can be lifted.
But this will mess up my thread. Then don't be doing something in your thread that will cause a real horse to go lame, or isn't possible in a real horse.
I have another thread where my character is riding too. Does it affect that one? Yes, the horse cannot be ridden in any role play situation until the admins have lifted the lameness. When we do that depends on how severe your mistake was. We will also be more likely to lift the lameness faster if you continue to role play in the thread, as well as in other threads with the horse.
Can you give some examples of what would make you give me an admin hit lameness. Basically anything that could cause a real horse to go lame and is over the top. This includes riding (and working) for too long, jumping jumps too high in practice, pushing a young horse too far etc etc. As I said, don't be stupid and it won't happen, so there's no need to worry.
Long story short, this is to keep people from getting crazy with their riding while on Caramel Rivers and if you don't do it, there's no need to worry about something like this happening. So just role play smart and keep your character's horse sound =]
