basic appearance, tBeing an actor, Rick has to keep himself looking very good, which he does well. The first thing people notice about him is his muscle, which he has plenty of most of the time. When you want the parts he does being shirtless on stage is not a rarity and you have to have the body for that. His muscles are very defined, especially on his chest and arms, but are only so because he works very hard to keep it like that, though he is not overly muscled by any means. His amount of muscle does change constantly, changing everything for different parts. He is very good at gaining for losing muscle in time for opening night, though it probably is very bad for his body. Standing at around 6’2” or 6’3”, maybe taller, he’s a lot taller than most people, which he finds annoying at times, but has simply learned to live with my now. He’s still very proportionate in all of his features, including his broad shoulders. His strength is only for show, as he does nothing except work around a horse stable at random times, so his isn’t as strong or muscular as some who actually need to work, it’s just enough to make him look good.
Rick’s appearance changes as much as his character does. He probably kills his body when he learns he needs to gain ten pounds of muscle in three weeks so they can be ready to fit costumes, but he does it surprisingly well and is never heard to complain. Not liking to be at all fake he’ll die or cut his hair to fit the part, though between plays he does have his normal look, just I wouldn’t get too used to it.
Naturally, and currently, his hair is a light brown color. He keeps it lengthy when he can, though not enough to make people stare. He has heard himself compared to a shaggy dog, when it’s long, but he really doesn’t care either. It’s just how it likes in. He puts very little effort into it daily, possible running a comb though it if he has time otherwise just running his hand through his hair and leaving it at that. That’s something else you learn about him, he has a habit of messing with his hair, usually pushing it from his eyes, as it has a tendency to fall in his range of vision.
Normally a deep tan sets upon his skin. The parts he plays usually require him to look pretty outdoorsy, so of course he makes sure he does. Make-up does wonders so if that needs to be changed for any character it can always be done. He shows few scars across his body, always being very careful not to do something that could compromise his career. The only thing that can really be noticed is that the fingers on his left hand are a bit beat up, from long hours with his guitar.
Eyes, what can you say about his eyes. Really nothing special is probably the way to go. They hold a bright hazel hue, changing with his clothes, but it’s not like that’s important in a stage actor. If trying he can seriously lull anybody who dare look him in his bright pools, seduce any girl he feels the need to, but normally trying is a waste of otherwise well used energy. He’s gotten many comments on a love of his eye color, all of which are shrugged off; no one can see your eyes from the audience.
A legitimate emotion crossing his face may even be called rare. A real smile or frown, even laugh can be hard to pick out, and even if they do occur it is nearly impossible to tell them apart from the ones he puts on every day of the year. His staged emotions are deadly close to the real things, anyone would believe them, no doubt about it. He can easily trick his own mother. All of his emotions are very showing, his normal smile quite attractive while his glare could cause people to back away, though only from years and years of practice.
Nothing that was not originally placed on his body is there now, namely tattoos or piercings. Once again, this is only for his acting, you don’t want to not get a part because of a stupid technicality such as this and, as said, make-up can do wonders. Anything that needs to be added can be, but it is hard to take it away. Then there’s the fact that he doesn’t see the point in such things, just a waste of time. On occasion, though, he is seen to have half his body covered in henna, always for some reason though.
In the end, our Rick is probably a very attractive guy, but that is pretty much a necessity in his line of work. No matter what it looks like at the moment he finds a way to make it look good on him, though that can be hard when he needs dark hair. It’s hard to really find a flaw in his looks, many can be found in his personality though, even though those can be hidden, just like anything with his looks. He spends too much time needing to be prefect for shows so really makes sure he is so.
Like anyone, Rick does have his flaws but he’s good at hiding them, even if he doesn’t try. Something almost everyone notices, though, is that he almost always looks exhausted, which is very true. He doesn’t get much sleep and when he does it’s not very deep. Dark circles are almost always under his eyes and there is no way to hide that, of course, but it is usually forgotten. It’s not that big of a deal, now is it?

overall personality , Since this world really is all about first impressions Rick has really found a way to get it down. Right when you meet him you can see nothing but a kind hearted, fun loving guy. No one can say they dislike the guy within the first few hours of knowing him, unless of course they don’t like actors. Like on stage all the audience understands about the character is the first scene and that it what sticks in their brain the entire way through the play, unless it is shown over time that they change. In life, he doesn’t want to deal with proving to people that he is kind once they already have an opinion about him, so will do what he can to make sure they like him from the start.
Once you get to know him it is obvious that he doesn’t have to put on much of a face from the start. In reality he is still very kind, though fun loving may be pushing it. He has a very good hold of him temper and is probably one of the most patient guys you will ever meet. This gives him the ability to be a tutor, which he is. Mostly he teaches new freshman how to sing in choirs, for they seem completely oblivious to the fact that it will not be all about them while on stage with 50 other individuals. He also has a few people he helps with their acting skills, for as we all know, he one of the best you can ever get.
Now, something that is considered bad in some peoples eyes is what keeps him alive, and that’s a willingness to do just about anything. Simply being an actor you’ve got to do what you are told and you can’t be picky when just starting out, and no one can say Rick is. He’ll pretty much do what he is told when it comes to being of stage, but that can turn around on people with a powerful wave when he comes from the spot light and is once again just Richard Cumings.
Off stage, Rick is just plain stubborn. He is not as bad as many people out there, but if he puts his mind to something he will not give up till it is accomplished. Hence his obsession with getting into Broadway, which the way is pretty much already paved for him. He has already been scouted and has an arrangement for the year he gets out of school. Now, add his stubbornness to a perfectionist and you can actually get a very annoying person from him. He is known to work some of his tutored kids for hours just to get their vowels where he wants them. Yeah, tiring, but in the end all the work pays off.
Something else that can bother people about him is that he’s good and he knows it. No, he is not incredibly arrogant about the topic, but he knows better than to let anyone tell him he doesn’t know what he’s doing and won’t put up with it. Sure, he will listen to suggestions, for it is hard to know how you sound in your own ears, but he will never do anything out of question. Then, since he knows what he’s talking about it bothers him to great extent when people don’t listen to his advice. He knows if you are overacting or are going sharp, so just listening to his advice is always in your best interest.
If you are looking for a good friend you really have to look no further. Loyalty to those he cares for is something he holds in highest regards, and he will never do anything to hurt them. He’s a good shoulder to cry on, but will not pity, which is okay for deep down that’s not what most people really want anyway. He’s good at making people laugh, you could say. If someone hurts one of his friends they’ll have to deal with him, and that’s not something most people are overly willing to do.
Now, impressions completely aside, as everything thus far indeed was, let’s get to know the real Rick. That’s right; his acting isn’t only saved for the stage anymore. The guy is very good at being completely fake, which he takes advantage of. No one can tell his acting from his actual feelings and just assumed he is telling the truth since he seems like such a nice, kind and respectful guy, but you would be wrong about ninety percent of the time. Acting is the only thing that gets Rick easily through a day.
His true feelings always hidden by a fake smile no one can see the pain that lies behind his eyes. When alone it comes out in a wave of emotion, like the bottle he shoves everything into is finally breaking, but even that happens rarely. His thoughts and his actions are always two very different things, always. Though inwardly he is still a very kind person he does have his problems with people that he does his best to hide from the world, and it’s a good thing his best is so damn good.
In pure reality Rick is a very pained and suffering individual, which is only made worse with his refusal to confide in anyone else. He will never be one to drag someone into his life, knowing they have their own problems to deal with and thinking that he has his own under control, which is a lie. Though pressure is something he enjoys it does get to a point when he just can’t stand people pushing him for more and more. Early mornings and late nights, gaining and losing muscle and weight, learning new lines and songs and all the while making sure he’s always there for his friends would tire anybody out, but then when you add that he has no one to vent to one of these days Rick’s just going to break completely, but until then he’s going to use his stubbornness and continue to convince everyone he’s completely fine.

history , Twenty three years ago Richard Eli Cumings are born to a rich family in California. His family had always owned a very successful thoroughbred horse racing stables, known as one of the best in the country, even with a Triple Crown winner a few years before Rick was born than many more who have pushed the prize. Needless to say, with all the money from the purses the Cumings family was very well off and all of the children, Rick being the middle child of three, grew up very spoilt, though not enough so to make them complete brats, but close at some ends.
At the age of only three Rick’s mother could tell he had a knack for drama, mostly because he could make her believe anything from not having anything to eat at lunch to finding a snake in his room. Much to his father’s protesting she signed him up for acting classes, in which he preformed wonderfully in, as well as loved. It wasn’t hard to picture that you had a natural in the midst.
When Rick turned eight, still taking acting lessons and had even been in some plays by the date, he decided to see how singing did him. It worked much like the acting did, as if he was a complete natural. Even though he still had a child’s voice it was obvious he could be great. The two soon became his passion in life. What he did and who he hung out with all depended on who enjoyed what he did, or at least who could put up with it.
Well, even though he did have great success in his currently chosen path, Rick’s father was still very reluctant to the idea. Rick was the oldest born male, his older sibling a sister, and with his father’s old ways he obviously wanted Rick to take over the barn, which he seemed a bit reluctant to do. Sure, the young boy liked horses well enough, enjoyed going to races and watching them train, but it wasn’t as though it was something as big as acting in his mind.
Hoping to help this is father gave him the job of taking care of a new mare when he was ten. Not completely of course, but Rick did have the main say in what was happening with the mare, Milestone, or Millie as she was soon known around the barn. Millie was great on her feet and had a wonderful stride, though her bloodlines weren’t the best. Still racing was the horse’s passion and she did it well comparing. Until one day on the tract Millie went lame. Soon they learned she had pulled a tendon and Rick along with his father decided to retire her from racing, with quite a bit of reluctance. He got to keep the mare and now just uses her for a pleasure horse as well as someone to talk to, but all of the horse stuff is beside the point in his life.
He had gone to a nice private school his whole life, taking a performing arts route of course, had had done very well. Well, at this school he had met a nice girl, Monica, ((of course, what kind of history would this be if he didn’t meet a girl?)) and they hit it off right away. At first their only connection was getting many of the opposite roles and having to go to each others houses to run lines or whatever, but they soon ended up to be much more. At this point he was only a sophomore in high school.
Then, one day they were taking a walk, a break from practice, and having a nice time with it. Monica was complaining about something, Rick can’t remember exactly what now but all he knew was that it had been a huge thing with her family. The next thing he knows is her falling into a rut of depression. Her acting skills plummeted, nearly getting her kicked out of the school, she lost so much weight so she couldn’t land the parts she wanted and wouldn’t show up to school for days at a time. Though all of this Rick tried his best to stick with her and comfort her, but found it hard. He had no one to confide his problems in and now he was dealing with hers as well. It was tough to say the least.
After school one day when she hadn’t shown Rick was heading for her house, ready to have his shoulder cried on and an earful of all emotions. He knocked on the door and got no answer so just let himself in, as was common with both of them. At first he couldn’t find her within the house, but knew she had to be around, her car was there and the door had been open. Trying all of the normal places he finally decided to check out her parents room. Carefully knocking, of course, he finally let himself in, only to have his eyes met with Monica eating the barrel of her father’s handgun.
The only thing he really remembers straight was running to her and telling her to stop before one of the loudest noises he had ever heard. He was covered in her blood and her dead body fell against his feet. Needless to say, the poor guy was traumatized beyond belief and didn’t even know what to think. He could only remember one phone number, his own and called his parents, completely hysteric. From that his parents sorted everything out as well as they could.
Needless to say, that traumatized the poor guy for quite a while, seeing his girlfriend die before his eyes. Now he feels as if it was completely his fault she had died in the first place, like he hadn’t always been close enough for her or that he could have stopped her when he walked into the room, when in reality there was very little he could have done different. The knowledge didn’t stop him from blaming himself and always having nightmares about the day or thinking of what he could have done differently.
The next year his parents thought it best to send him away, get him away from what happened, and so they did, to Baylor Academy. Though he wasn’t fond of the idea of going to a school that wasn’t solely performing arts he ended up deciding to give it a go, since he was already pretty much handed his spot on Broadway. Now, Rick’s just trying to find the pieces of his partially shattered mind and collect everything again without dragging someone into his life. With this, he’s turning himself completely fake and taking his acting skills and really using them to his advantage, or so he thinks. Going on like this it will only be a matter of time before he completely breaks.
At this new school he met a girl and after a while, and telling her what had happened to Monica, the two started dating. Things went alright for quite a while, actually, and since she knew why he was reluctant to get attached it was actually a lot better than he thought it would be, that is until the anniversary of Monica’s suicide. Rick was out of it and his girlfriend knew exactly why that was, but she didn’t know the extent of the problem, as nobody ever does with Rick. She knocked on the door to his dorm, no answer, but she soon realized the door was unlocked and let herself in, only to find Rick with his prescription sleep aids, an almost empty bottle, passed out on the floor. She, of course, called the hospital and he was admitted but was in a coma for a while. Once he finally woke up he was made sure to be okay while still in the ICU before being moved to a psychiatric ward for a little while, just to make sure he was okay and figure out what meds to put him on to help with his depression.
The school, though, luckily didn’t find out about this, his girlfriend doing a wonderful job keeping it under wraps, which was quite difficult since Rick had always been popular in the school. Well, in the end nothing was said and things went back to normal and Rick went back to pretending. Graduation came around and Rick and his girlfriend were moving him out of his dorm when he got the weirdest phone call of his life. The person on the other end said something about his daughter, which he quickly denied, telling them they must have the wrong number, but once mentioning the birth date and Monica’s name Rick knew there was no other choice except him being the father. The first three months of the pregnancy Monica hadn’t been showing, after that he had been touring then she said she was, but it was later confirmed that she was spending time at home with her parents to hide the pregnancy from Rick and the school. She was scared of letting anyone know and getting expelled, which was very, very possible in the school they went to at the time.
The little girl, Jade, had been adopted by a wonderful couple, but the poor girl had the only parents she had ever known taken from her in a car crash and suddenly Rick had a young child on his hands, having no idea how to be a father. He was constantly being checked up on by child services, because of his depression, for the first few years but after that long while he proved that he was actually doing a very good job of being a father and Jade was happy and healthy. When he was 21 his parents also gave him a god sum of money, which he used to buy Ice House, to make extra money justin case the acting this didn't work, but no one would ever believe that.
